Frequently Asked Questions

Who can be accepted into your program?

GSTH is for men who have been recently released from prison and have nowhere else to live. Residents must be at least 18 yeats old.

How long do residents stay in your program?

Most residents stay between 3-4 months. Residents can stay for up to two years, provided they are working, saving money, and striving towards independant living.

What are the program requirements?

The four primary requirements are:

  1. Residents must attend four support group meetings per week
  2. Residents must seek and obtain a job.
  3. Residents must open a bank account.
  4. Residents must remain alcohol and drug free.

Are there program fees?

Program fees are $120.00 per month

How many residents can you house?

We can house up to seven residents at a time.

Do you help residents find jobs?

Yes. GSTH has contacts with numerous employment services to help residents find work.

What about transportation?

Our staff supplies residents with bus tokens and schedules so they can get where they are going.

Is there a curfew?

Yes: 11:00 pm on weekdays and 1:00 am on Friday and Saturday nights.

How is the program funded?

GSTH is funded by the City of Cincinnati, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and individual donors.
