Justice Watch

Our mission: We support prisoners, their families, and all who work for humane conditions in the criminal justice system, until such time as prisons no longer mirror a society based on classism and racism.

Advocacy

Justice Watch believes a restorative justice rather than a retributive justice would better serve us as a people. By restorative justice we mean one that addresses the root causes of crime, the injuries of victims, and the needs of offenders so that the community can be restored and made whole.

  • We publish a quarterly newsletter of alternative views on the criminal justice system.
  • We build coalitions with other groups and individuals working to abolish the death penalty.
  • We lobby for clemency for death row inmates, application of civil rights protections to prisoners, and alternatives to prison for non-violent offenders.
